Veľmi známou a príťažlivou turistickou atrakciou severného pobrežia ANTRIM je adrenalínový prechod z pevniny na krásne skalisko v Atlantiku s názvom CARRICK-A-REDE. Adrenalínový je preto, lebo sa ide po lávke asi 60 stôp nad morskou priepasťou a na hojdajúcej sa lávke si chvíľami pripadáte ako niekde v Himalájach.

Najdôležitejší je prvý krok! Cesta je ale určite bezpečná, lebo sprievodca pred každým vstupom meria silu vetru, aby vás náhodou neodfúklo až do Škótska. Kto má ale veľký strach, toho sprievodca s pomocou vlastných síl a psychológie ochotne prevedie. V každom prípade je to pre každého návštevníka nádherný zážitok.

Už pred 350 rokmi rybári rozvinuli takýto visutý most z dosák a povrazov cez 20 m širokú priepasť medzi pevninou a ostrovčekom Carrick. Lepšie sa im tak naťahovali siete do cesty migrujúcim lososom.

Dopravíte sa tu opäť z Ballycastle autobusom asi po 30 minútach jazdy. Výhodou tejto túry je, že môžete ďalej pokračovať od parkoviska (turist. centra) späť po pobreží a ďalej prejsť ponad ďalšie krásne útesy asi 2 km až do prístavu BALLINTOY HARBOR. Toto okúzľujúce miesto si nenechajte ujsť! Vyzerá to tu ako v zelenej sopečnej zóne, s rôznymi jaskyňami a podzemnými jazierkami.

Do mestečka BALLINTOY je to tiež asi 2 km. V miestnych puboch tu čapujú vynikajúce pivo Guinnes a tak tu pokojne môžete počkať na spiatočný autobus, ktorý chodí určite po 15.-tej a po 17-tej hodine z Portrushu.
Pokiaľ túto túru prežijete a neskončíte vo vlnách Atlantiku, určite mi dáte za pravdu, že niečo takéto by ste v strednej Európe asi nenašli.

Zdravím a také obdivuji půvaby irské přírody a památek.Co se týká vyfocených rostlin,tak všechny v různých formách můžeme najít i u nás.Keř s červenými bobulemi je Skalník.Na jaře kvete drobnými bílými kvítky a přes zimu ho zdobí červené malvičky a i u nás je vysazován k ozelenění svahů nebo zídek.Palmu připomínající rostlina je Juka.Patří mezi nepravé palmy a její domovinou je Amerika,ale v Evropě již také zdomácněla.Existují rozmanité druhy a podle klimatických podmínek může vyrůst i do výšky 10 m.Krásný keř s modrými květy je Hebe,který je bohužel v našich klimatických podmínkách citlivý na mráz.Žlutě kvete Cytisus (Zanovätník).Je to jedovatý keř,který také v jiných druzích a barvách najdeme i u nás.Na závěr si musím jen postesknout,že se nepodařilo vyfotit největší psí plemeno,které pochází z Irska. Je to úžasný Irský vlkodav,jehož jsem dlouholetou chovatelkou.
