Dostať sa z Kysúc do obce ČACHTICE nie je až také zložité ako by sa na prvý pohľad zdalo. Do Nového Mesta nad Váhom sa zo Žiliny dopravíte vlakom jednoducho a rýchlo. Z Nového Mesta do Čachtíc už je to trocha zložitejšie, ale s pomocou vláčika motoráčika a všemocného internetu sa vám to určite podarí.
V Čachticiach svoje prvé kroky nasmerujte do stredu dediny ku kostolu, za ktorým sa napojíte na zelenú TZ. Pred tým sa ale môžete občerstviť v krčme U Čachtickej panej. Tá vás potajomky bude sprevádzať takmer na každom kroku. Neuvidíte ju, ale cítiť v podvedomí ju budete určite.

Vápencové a dolomitové bradlo na ktorom zrúcanina stojí sa vypína nad potokom Jablonka, ktorý je domovom vzácnych vodných živočíchov ( žiab, mlokov apod.) Na protiľahlom brehu sa vypína vrch Drapliak s prírodnou pamiatkou Čachtickou jaskyňou, ktorá je najvýznamnejšou jaskyňou Malých Karpát. Žiaľ verejnosti je tento unikát neprístupný.
ČACHTICKÝ HRAD pochádza z prvej polovice 13. storočia a zabezpečoval západnú hranicu Uhier. Najstaršou časťou hradu, ktorý bol niekoľkokrát prestavovaný je hranolová veža a palác. V r. 1708 bol hrad vypálený vojskami F. Rákocziho. Od tej doby pustne a chátra.
Hrad najviac preslávila grófka Alžbeta Báthory, ktorá bola odsúdená za sadistické vraždy asi 600 mladých žien a dievčat k doživotnému vezeniu práve na tomto hrade.
